Call for candidates for the Governance Body:
The Supervisory Committee (COSUP)
Dear EUCROF Members,
As you may already be aware, the EUCROF Code of Conduct is the first transnational GDPR code in the health sector. Approved by the supervisory authorities of all 27 EU Member States, it provides the specific interpretation of how the GDPR should be applied to clinical research.
In line with the adoption of the Code, EUCROF is now releasing a call for candidates to appoint members to the EUCROF Code of Conduct Supervisory Committee (COSUP), the governing body responsible for overseeing the adherence of CROs to the Code. COSUP is the sole body authorized to make operational decisions regarding compliance with the Code in an impartial and independent manner.
Candidates should have at least 10 years of experience in one of the following areas:
- Research in health, epidemiology, genetics, biostatistics, human and social sciences
- Personal data protection
- Health information systems
- Protection of Patients’ rights
- Experience with audit, inspection, or certification processes
To ensure an impartial and independent decision making, COSUP membership will include a balanced representation of candidates from CROs, Patient associations or advocates, Healthcare Professionals (Investigational Sites), sponsors (industry, academia); and Independent experts with documented experience in one or more of the above domains.
Please review the attached letter carefully and submit your candidacy by sending your CV and a motivation letter to info@eucrof.eu.
If you have any questions regarding this process, feel free to reach out to the same email address.
Note: The documents related to the Code are now publicly available for download on the EUCROF website: https://cro.eucrof.eu/gdpr-form
